"IMPACT Day is Deloitte’s annual salute to our culture of service. Now in it’s 10th year, IMPACT Day is a celebration of our year-round commitment to helping people and communities thrive by using our best thinking to build stronger nonprofits. On IMPACT Day, all our more than 40,000 people nationwide are encouraged to contribute their time and skills to nonprofit organizations." On June 5th, 2009, an incredible crew of volunteers arrived nice and early on a gray and dreary day. About two dozen showed up ready to work and they did! In fact, they worked their butts off! Even in the pouring rain they never stopped or even slowed down. I have never been more amazed by the absolute dedication they put into sprucing this place up. The shelter now looks very warm! Before it resembled a prison compound. Everyone that has come in has complimented the new look.
